  The network of Levadas built over five centuries is the living document of how it was possible to combine human intervention in perfect harmony with the landscape and functioning of the ecosystems. Today, in addition to carrying water for agricultural purposes and for the supply of hydropower plants, the Levadas represent paths for the discovery of nature.

Through them you can discover places of extreme beauty, where the magic of the original forest of Madeira – the Laurissilva (Laurel) forest, the largest of its kind in the world and classified by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage since December 1999 and declared as one of the seven natural Wonders of Portugal - take us to the natural landscapes and idyllic sceneries.
