Light wheel-track tank BT-7M was army accepted in 1935, before the war tank BT-7 was the only production tank in the world capable to attain a high speed of 52 km / h on tracks and 72 km / h on wheels. It served as a basis for the BT-7M model, which was the first model in the USSR equipped with V-2 diesel engine, manufacture of the Kharkov diesel plant № 75.From the first day BT- tanks took part in the battles of the Great Patriotic War and managed to provide decent resistance against enemy.

T-70 light tank. The new tank was designed in the autumn of 1941 and was intended to replace the T-60 light tank. In 1942 it entered mass production, and its creator designer N.A. Astrov was awarded the Stalin’s Prize. Since the summer of 1942 T-70 light tank had taken an active part in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. The highest point of their service became the Battle of Kursk. By the number of produced vehicles T-70 takes the second place on quantity in the Red Army in 1941-1945.

T-34-85 medium tank. The T-34-85 medium tank was designed in the DD of the Ural Tank Plant under the direction of A.A. Morozov. In the new cast steel turret the 85-mm long-barreled gun D-5T was installed, later replaced by the ZIS-S-53 of the same caliber.
The tank was army accepted in January 1944. Participation of T-34-85 in the battles removed the temporary advantage of the German tanks "Panther" and "Tiger". From March 1944 till the end of the war these virtually the best tanks of World War II were widely used in the military operations of the Red Army.

IS-2 heavy tank. The IS-2 heavy tank was the most powerful heavy tank of World War II. It was designed under the direction of Zh.I. Kotin and N.F. Shamshurin in the DD of the Kirov Plant in Chelyabinsk- based on IS-85 it was army accepted in November 1943. The tank equipped with 122-mm tank gun D-25T, could destroy any German tank and self propelled artillery installation. German tank crews were forbidden to engage in open fights with the IS-2.
On the pedestal in Karlhorst in Berlin, where in May 1945 the capitulation of Germany was adopted, our symbol of Victory - IS-2 is established.
